American Sign Language Concentration

Program Learning Outcomes

  1. The students will be able to demonstrate the appropriate parameters (handshape, orientation, location, movement, and facial expressions) of American Sign Language expressively and receptively.
  2. Students will be able to analyze reading materials related to Deaf Culture.
  3. Students will be able to describe characteristics of Deaf Culture.
  4. The students will be able to demonstrate effective signing skills by presenting ASL Storytelling and Poetry.
  5. Students will be able to select appropriate vocabulary and communicative strategies in imitating and conducting dialogues.
