Program Learning Outcomes

  1. Students will apply critical thinking skills using the formal elements and principles of design in two-dimensional media.
  2. Students will apply critical thinking skills using the formal elements and principles of design in three-dimensional media.
  3. Students will demonstrate their ability to develop a theme using media as a means of personal expression.
  4. Students will demonstrate their research of their surroundings using Art Historical References, with an emphasis on composition and context.
  5. Students will demonstrate their ability to create a digital artwork portfolio.

Additional materials and supplies will be required in all Fine Arts foundation and elective studio courses. It is the responsibility of the student to purchase these materials when needed.

In addition to the courses in the Field of Study, the student is required to take 42 credit hours from the STC Core Curriculum.

Students who select a 3 credit hour Mathematics course to fulfill the Mathematics component of the Core Curriculum must take 4 credit hours to complete the Component Area Option for the Core Curriculum.
